How is a Vineyard Church Governed?
Every Vineyard Church is a registered Charity, operating with a Board of Trustees in line with Charity Commission guidelines. Senior Pastors are employed and appointed by the Trustees and validated by VCUKI. The Senior Pastors have sole responsibility to spiritually lead the church, but
work closely with the Trustees. The board of Trustees helps the Senior Pastors by advising on:
• Finance
• Legal matters
• Acting as a check and balance
• Ensuring that the plans and activities are affordable and legal

You can find our accounts on the Charity Commission Website.

The Vineyard Movement in the UK & Ireland is made up of independent churches who then are overseen by a leadership team at the national level, then
subsequent tiers:

1 National Directors: John & Debby Wright
2 Senior Leadership Team & Trustees
3 Regional Leaders
4 Area Leaders
5 Senior Pastors of each Vineyard Church
(each Pastor has an Overseer)
Accountability
Senior Pastors are accountable first to the Lord (Hebrews 13:17, James 3:1). They have sole responsibility for the spiritual leadership of the church.
For their employed role, they are accountable to the Trustees. Spiritually they are supported by their pastoral oversight, which is implemented through VCUKI. Senior Pastors are encouraged to have other mentors in addition to their VCUKI pastoral oversight, as well as either a Spiritual Director and/or a coach.
Locally, they are accountable to Area Leaders and Regional Leaders.
