Fill a bag with hope!

“Remember the poor.” – Galatians 2 v 10

Here at Stour Valley Vineyard our biggest compassion ministry is that of our foodbank Storehouse.

In the last 10 years, we have watched Storehouse grow from being run out of our Pastors cellar, into it now having its own section of the new Vineyard Centre. On Sunday 15th October we plan to spend some time remembering some of the amazing things God has done within our community through Storehouse, and discuss how there are even more amazing things to come! We are watching connections within our area forming in front of our very eyes. This August we fed 121% more people than we did the previous August, but the demand is increasing just as rapidly.

We will be giving out small brown bags in previous services, for you to take home and fill with items for local people in crisis. Come and collect a bag this Sunday and fill it with hope!

We will see you there!

There is a home waiting for you.

We feel that HOME Groups are the core of our church. They are a place for healing, learning and laughter! It is a place that we can come together to discuss our experiences. In the book of Acts, it is expressed that the early Christians met together to share their lives and meet the needs of those less fortunate around them, and we do the same!

On Sunday 1st October there is an opportunity for you to explore our fantastic set of HOME Groups and find one that suits you. If that means trying every single one, we are relaxed and informal and won’t be offended if you change your mind!

Have a look at our HOME Group’s page to find out more.

Stour Valley Vineyard is going to be 10 years old! Can you believe it?

This September we are celebrating our first decade, and we would be honoured if you would celebrate it with us! Your story is part of our story too, after all.

We want to make a weekend of it, so book the dates now!

And if you’re new, haven’t been to church for a while or just new to the area, you’re welcome to join us. In fact, it would make our day to see you!

We love all love our dads, don’t we? We all think they do a pretty good job. (Well, most of the time!)

Well, dads, step forward. Whether you have young children or older, this is your moment to be recognise for the super hero that you are.

Children, make sure you bring the old man early on Sunday 18 June at the Delphi Centre, so we can honour them. Warm bacon rolls and other treats will be waiting for them.

We will also a have some fun games with some silly prizes to win and more.

Oh, and If you’ve got a super hero tee-shirt somewhere in your drawer, why not wear it? We’ll have ours on.

See you there faster than a speeding bullet. Cape optional!

Can you donate a chocolate egg to help a local family who are struggling to provide for their children this Easter?

Your food donations continue to be a life-saver for many people in our community. Each tin or item really does make a difference. Thank you!

But you can go one step further by helping provide the gift of an Easter Egg for a child.

We have been put in touch with  families through one of our local referral partners. Together, we can tell them that “hope wins”. It is a small thing we can do, but something we can do with a big heart.

If you are able to help, we are collecting kids’ eggs throughout March, so you can either drop off your eggs at any participating church, at our Storehouse office in the Christopher Centre, or bring your donation to our morning service, 10.30am at the Delphi Centre. Simply leave them at the Storehouse Collection Point and our Storehouse team will do the rest.

Thank you.

Yay! British Summer Time starts this weekend, so you know what that means….

…Sunny days and summer fun are on the way. Oh, and don’t forget to put your clocks forward by one hour when you go to bed on Saturday night!

We have a family service this weekend, being Mother’s Day, so bring your mum or gran along. That is, of course, after you’ve made her breakfast in bed.

If you have never been to one of our services before, you’ll find us at the Delphi Centre off Newton Road, Sudbury (Map). We start at 10:30am. Arrive early for fresh coffee and pastries.

Look forward to seeing you there!
